Do I need an Air Conditioning Energy Assessment?

ALL BUILDINGS with more than 12kw of air conditioning are now required BY LAW to have an Air Conditioning Energy Assessment completed.  In the case of buildings with more than 250KW these inspections should have already been carried out. Your deadline was 4th January 2009. For all other buildings, the deadline for your first inspection was the end of 2010.

IT'S THE LAW! Don't risk getting reoccurring fines.

BE CAREFUL if you are getting a quote for an Air Conditioning Energy Assessment. There are companies offering these that are NOT ACCREDITED, and your inspection will not be legal.

Ask them if they FILE THEIR REPORTS with the Government LANDMARK register. For instance any "CIBSE" report will not be filed with the register.

Ask them if they are fully accredited. Do their reports comply with TM44?

You should also be aware that there are companies out there that are no more than call centres and DO NOT directly employ accredited air conditioning energy assessors. They simply take a booking and phone companies like us. They then put a huge mark up on!
